Canon PIXMA MG6350 Printer Review– Canon PIXMA MG6350 may seem a run-of-The-Mill device that provides print, copy and scan facilities. But closer scrutiny of this lacquered black box with dimensions of 486 x 369 x 148mm (W x D x H) reveals some innovative features that sit alongside the standard arrangement of a A4 flatbed scanner mounted on top of a inkjet printer supported by two papers Input options.
The lower paper tray provides the main paper feed with a capacity of 125 sheets of copy paper up to A4 in size. A second paper cassette, placed slightly higher, is used for smaller sizes of photo paper or, with the addition of an accompanying insert, to print labels directly on the appropriate optical media. Although not exactly innovative, the ability to print directly on optical disks can prove to be useful. Both paper trays felt a bit fragile, this did not affect their performance.
The Canon PIXMA MG63500 that I reviewed previously, MG6350 has a drop-down wrapper that automatically opens when a print job is detected. Not only does this front door open with a smooth motion without a spring loaded paper support arm automatically turns out ready to perform its designated role of keeping printed documents under any kind of control. This support arm automatically slides off when the lid is closed. The support arm has a pull-out extension, but this requires manual action.
This particular model is a six cartridge assembly. The complete complement consists of black, gray, yellow, cyan and magenta inks as well as an additional pigment black cartridge. When you either first insert or replace these cartridges when needed, you need to raise the front end of the device top to reveal the cartridge docking station with its six compartments. The LED lights on each tray will indicate when a replacement unit is necessary. This is a feature that appealed to me, because I’m sure it will be others.
