Canon PIXMA MG2950 Printer Review– Canon PIXMA MG2950 offers all the basics, including a wireless connection for mobile printing. Focused directly on student and home markets, the printer is available in black or white and has a sleek, modern look. The front part is deeply undercut, which reduces the overall footprint when the machine is opened for printing. Unusually for a Canon printer, it feeds paper from the tray at the back, which holds up to 60 sheets, and feeds it into the telescopic output tray on the front side. There is no front cover on the machine.
On top, a simple A4 scanner has no automatic document feeder you should not expect one for that price and on its left is a very simple control Panel, with physical buttons and Pinhead LEDs. Double cassettes, one black and the other tri-color, slot in front, once you have flipped the panel behind the output tray. They’re not that easy to get on and you have to push the cassettes up to click on the site, which is a bit inept.
Cassettes are available in two capacities, although even XL versions have a maximum number of pages 400 pages black and 300 colors. The connection is via USB or wireless connection and the Wi-Fi connection is easy to set up, with just a few button presses, one on the printer and more on your router. The Software is the usual package of high-quality Canon applications, including My Image Garden and Easy-Webprint.
PIXMA 2950 to 8ppm Black and 4ppm color and in our tests we got quite close. Our five-page mono text print completed in 47 seconds, making the print speed 6.4 ppm, but it has risen to 6.7 ppm on a 20-page print. The device is not duplex unless you manually rotate the paper.
